What Tytonic stores

The free analysis tool is automated (AI). It needs your audio for a few seconds and keeps nothing that identifies you unless you create an account. This page lists everything the site stores. Files you email for a mix are handled by email, outside the site.

Audio

The uploaded file is written to a temporary file, analysed, and deleted as soon as the analysis finishes, including when it fails. Usually that is a few seconds.

The one exception is the training box on the upload form. It is unticked by default. If you tick it, Tytonic keeps that upload for training. It is stored with a random id and is not linked to an account.

Without an account

  • Results (score, problems, spectrum, share card) are held in server memory and deleted after 60 minutes. The result link stops working then.
  • Anonymous log: each diagnosis writes one row with a random id, the genre, the measurements, the scores and the problems. It contains no name, email address or IP address.
  • IP addresses are hashed with a key that changes every time the server restarts, and used only for rate limits. They are never written to disk.

With an account

Accounts are not available yet. This section applies once they open.

Accounts are optional. If you sign in, Tytonic stores:

  • your email address;
  • for each diagnosis you run while signed in: the date, genre, overall score, sub-scores, the problems found (title, location, points lost), integrated loudness, true peak and sub share. No audio.
  • a session cookie (tt_session) that keeps you signed in for 30 days. The server stores only a hash of it. It is the only cookie the site sets.
  • sign-in links: each works once and expires after 15 minutes. The server stores a hash of the link and your email address, and deletes both within an hour.

Your account is not added to the anonymous log.

Sign-in email

Sign-in links are sent by Resend, an email delivery service. Resend receives your email address and the message in order to deliver it. Tytonic sends no other email.

Deleting your data

On the account page you can delete single entries from your history, or delete the account. Deleting the account removes your email address, sessions, history and any sign-in links immediately.
